29th July 2014 will always belong among the saddest days of my life. My Mom and a favourite with our guests,
who had liked to call her “Mrs Eva”, succumbed to insidious cancer after ten years of  brave and optimistic fight.
Those tragic circumstances turned me into the new owner. I try to keep the family tradition of the restaurant management in the same careful, professional and caring way as my Mom used to do.
In July 1987 my dear Mom Eva Pešlová joined its staff and worked here as a manager as well as a waitress.
After the Velvet Revolution in 1989 she rented the restaurant and in April 1993 purchased it from the state.
In 2000 the building was reconstructed and received a new external appearance, which has been
maintained since then. However, the year 2000 was crucial especially for me. After a five-year study at the
Hotel School in Mariánské Lázně I joined my Mom and in July I became a new member of the restaurant team.
Dear guests, welcome to our fish restaurant Rybářská bašta.
At the very beginning let me introduce the history of the building and restaurant in brief. The first part of the property was built in 1909
and the building was used for a lot of different purposes by various groups, such as a fishing society, boy scouts and gardeners
or served as a base for a boat hire next to Swan Lake (Labutí jezírko). In 1973 the then state-owned enterprise Jednota
added on the second part of the property and a restaurant specializing in traditional Czech fish cuisine was opened here.
